JOHN SLOAN (AMERICAN, 1871-1951), ATTRIBUTED, SKETCH OF AN INTERIOR, pencil on paper, depicting coats hung upon the wall with a stool nearby, possibly period signature and inscripton "Original / by John Sloan / for / S. M." lower right, with later commemorative artist stamp applied at lower left, ink sketch verso of a diner scene, unsigned, likely a different hand. Housed under glass in a modern frame. First quarter 20th century. 11 3/4" x 8 1/2" OA.

From a Shenandoah Valley private collection.
Condition
Very good overall condition with minor toning and discoloration. Later applied stamp. Paper folded at proper left edge, with old tape residue to edges. Frame with minor wear.
