Description
(Lindstrom, 1920s-1930s) A pair of rare tin wind-up boats made in the 1920s and 30s by Lindstrum. The speedboat measuring 2.5"x7.25"x2.5" high is labeled "Miss America" after the boats Gar Wood broke many speed records with in the 1920's and early 1930's. The paddle wheeler is wound by a key inserted in the smokestack, and while carefully built and balanced to operate, has no marks to indicate who produced it. The speedboat is in good condition with wear from use and oxidation in spots and at seams. When wound it does not function and needs servicing. The 3.25"x7.5"x3" high paddle wheeler is in very good condition with light wear from use, and although not tested by key, can be wound and operated by the paddle wheel.
