Two handmade paper works by Douglas Morse Howell.
Howell is credited with repopularizing the craft of paper making in America in the twentieth century. In 1993 shortly before his death Howell was honored with a gold medal from the American Crafts Council.
Howell made paper for use by abstract expressionist artists such as Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Lee Krasner et al.
