Dutch burlwood longcase clock, 18th c., mansard top with gilt Atlas and winged angel figures, fretwork and pilaster bonnet, single door with small gilt-metal framed pendulum viewing panel, rising on bun feet, housing metal clock face with foliate and putti motifs, moon dial, over chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, encasing secondhand dial and calendar date, marked Gerrit Rensman Fecit Swol (Zwolle, 18th c.), weight-driven, time-and-strike movement, having dual bells for two-tone chime, silent mode option, retaining pendulum, figures likely later, approx 112"h, 21"w, 11"d **Provenance: Jas A. 4/17/23 1:45pm - In my opinion regarding: LOT â€“ 1217: I note the case is intact and freestanding, the figures are removable from the top and may be later additions with restorations/ gilt paint touch ups as described, there is some light surface wear and lines to the veneer throughout as commensurate with age and use, regarding operational status, the time movement is good; however, the strike cable is wrapped around the front piece and not at the center of the drum and is therefore not operational at this time. The movement and works look good, but because of this, we do not know if the clock operates on the half hour, etc. I am not an expert, so please do ask any further questions.
