A selection of Linda King‘s photocopies of her unpublished letters to Bukowski from 1971-72. The collection is a wonderful window into their passionate and tumultuous relationship. Some of her opening salutations include, ”My Darling Insane Lover,” ”Bukowski Drunk,” ”Bastard Bukowski,” etc. The letters provide details of their constant back-and forth - sometimes loving, sometimes accusatory, but always passionate. King was Bukowski‘s great love after leaving the post office and embarking on a full-time writing career. She gave ample inspiration for many of his greatest writings. She is also fictionally portrayed as Lydia in his major novel Women.
