Newcomb Macklin Carved Gilt Labeled Frame. The original Impressionist gilt carved frame has perpendicular corner splines. Rabbet measures 14.25 inches high, 18.5 inches wide, with interior fillet it measures 14 inches high, 18 inches wide. Frame measures 20.5 inches high, 24.5 inches wide. In good condition with light gilt wear.

The company was in operation from 1883 until 1979. Many of Newcomb-Macklin's frames designed in the early 20th century reflected the esthetics of the Arts and Crafts movement that flourished in the United States between 1900 and 1925.
