Provenance: a Middle Tennessee estate. Biography (courtesy of Askart): Henry Hintermeister was the son of John Henry Hintermeister, a noted illustrator. The father and son worked together as a duo from the 1890s to 1940s, painting storytelling scenes about American life that led to comparisons with Norman Rockwell. As a solo artist, Hintermiester was also known for his depictions of animals, particularly wildlife.

Generally good condition, recently cleaned, with 1/8" area of flaking on tent.
