Rudolf Svoboda (Czechoslovakia, 1924 - ) abstract bronze sculpture of a standing figure titled "Harlequin". Paper label to base with artist information. 14 1/4" H. Biography: Rudolf Svoboda was born in 1924 in North-Western Slovakia and studied at School of Applied Arts in Prague. He was a student and later a collaborator of professor Karel Pokorny, one of the protagonists of modern sculpture in the period between the War I and War II. His sculptures range from realistic to abstract and frequently feature themes of mothers and children, dancers, flowers, wings, Icarus, Clown, Jugglers, and symbols against war and genocide.
