Original vintage Soviet film poster for an early sound film directed by Boris Barnet - Okraina (Province / The Outskirts / The Patriots) The plot focuses on a small town in a remote part of the Russian Empire, factory workers struggle to organize against the owners. When World war I comes, they unite as soldiers of the Tsar on the Eastern Front. Local girl Anka forges a relationship with a German POW. The film criticises war profiteers and encourages workers to reach out to one another across national lines. In 1917, the Tsar is forced to abdicate following the February Revolution. Dynamic image of two soldiers in uniform and another man in front of a battle torn yellow, white and blue Prussian flag against a red background with the title below in black letters. Fair condition, trimmed, folds, repaired tear in right margin. Country of issue: France, designer: Boris Chaliapine, size (cm): 55.5x36, year of printing: 1933.
