Description
LeCoultre
'Futurematic' gold-plated wristwatch
Produced from 1951 to 1958, the Futurematic was the first automatic watch without a crown at 3 o'clock. It features a small wheel on the back of the case that reads "DO NOT LIFT - SLIDE", that can be used to set the time. Furthermore, the Futurematic is equipped with an advanced mechanism for the era that engages the mainspring when approximately six hours of running autonomy remain. That means when the Futurematic is next worn, it will start running again immediately. The sophisticated movement combined with the elegance of the case and the dial design make the Futurematic an attractive and interesting model for today's discerning collectors.
