Paint-decorated "Poll Parrot" Shoe Store Bench
America, first half 20th century
The shaped blue-painted sides with parrot figure and lettered "Poll Parrot/SHOES/FOR BOYS and GIRLS," joining a square red and black-painted back and bench seat, the seat with four painted animal-form dividers, above a green-painted apron. Height 35 1/4 inches, width 8 feet, depth 22 inches.

Note: Poll Parrot was a children's shoe company renowned for their inspired marketing campaigns and efforts. The company was founded in 1925 and operated successfully until being acquired in the early 1960s.
