Description

An Art Deco, stylized polar bear in earthenware with white glaze, designed by John Skeaping in 1927 and made in England by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons at the Etruria Works, Barlaston, in the 1930s â€“ 1950â€™s. Skeaping was an accomplished sculptor who worked for Wedgwood from 1927. With impressed artist and makerâ€™s marks on back of base plinth, 10 ¼ in. long x 7 ¼ in. tall x 5 in. wide.

Condition

Very good, with a short, tight firing hairline to back of base.
