Description
Jose Malanca (Argentinian, 1897-1967) Oil on canvas painting depicting a landscape with a mountain rising dramatically in the distance, 1937. Signed and dated along the lower right. Malanca spent much of his time painting landscapes of South America. He briefly traveled to Europe to study there and met Italian painter Giovanni Segantini who influenced his works.

Condition
No visible sign of restoration under UV light. No visible creases. No major losses or tears. The surface is generally stable; to the center of the right margin, there is a dent. The color is bold and bright. Along the sky, there is craquelure throughout. The verso could not be inspected due to the nature of how the artwork is framed. Light wear to the frame.
