Description
Western Asiatic/Aegan, ca. 1200-700 BC. A bronze spearhead boasting a lentoid, triangular-shaped blade with a prominent midrib that runs down its center, creating a raised ridge. The blade tapers to a sharp point, ensuring maximum penetration when thrust. The shoulders extend downwards, forming wings that provide a secure grip and protect the hand during combat. The pronounced shaft and long tapering tang allow for easy attachment to a pole, making this spearhead an essential tool for hunting and warfare alike. During the Bronze Age, weaponry played a vital role in the everyday lives of people in Western Asia. The development of bronze metallurgy allowed for the creation of more efficient and effective weapons, which had a significant impact on hunting, warfare, and ultimately, the development of civilizations.
