Edwin and Walter Martin for Martin Brothers, a stoneware Wildflower Meadow jardiniere, 1891, ovoid form with everted rim, sgraffito decorated with insects and dragonflies in flight over flowers and grasses, painted marks St Andrews Hall Norwich, 10-1891 martin Bros London + Southall, 16.5cm high Notes: the vase was probably made and decorated by the brothers on a demonstratory visit to Norwich in 1891 during which time an exhibition of Industrial Art and Design was held at St Andrews Hall, by Sir Samuel Hoare. Provenance: Sotheby's 16th May 1986, lot 4
