Atlantic Watershed Zone, Ticaban Period IV, Ca. 1 to 500 AD.Unique and rare style for a ritual vessel. The small central bowl is raised up by three standing figural legs, one playing a flute. They have expressive faces with scalloped bordered heads and overall painted in red and tan pigments.Size 6-3/4 inches H. Provenance: Ex collection of Stanley L. Kaufman, a Harvard educated lawyer who specialized in bringing suits on behalf of corporations' disgruntled stockholders, died in 1993 at the age of 81.He and his wife, Sigrun Rampoldt, were avid collectors of Pre-Columbian art throughout the 60s and early 70s, and lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
