Original blindstamped brown cloth, gilt-lettered spine (extremities a bit worn, biodegradation to upper cover fore-edge, lacking front free endpapers). (Spotting and browning throughout). Provenance: Thomas C. Davis (early ownership signature).
FIRST EDITION, early printing (“Tenth Thousand”). An important firsthand account of slavery in the southern United States and the basis for the 2013 Academy Award-winning film on the same title.
