Raymond Depardon is a French photographer, filmmaker, and journalist, born in 1942 in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France. He is best known for his photojournalism work covering social and political issues in France and around the world.Depardon began his career as a photographer in the 1960s and quickly gained recognition for his work. He joined the Magnum Photos agency in 1978 and became a full member in 1981. He has covered a wide range of topics during his career, including conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, and social issues such as mental illness and rural life.In addition to his photography work, Depardon is also a renowned filmmaker.
