The painting has been lined and some of the texture on the surface has been pressed a bit. There are also two scratches in the center of the composition. The first is horizontal about 4 inches long above and to the left of the basket handle. The right most 1/4" is the most severe part. There is also a curved vertical four inch scratch in the grapes at center which. Both scratches appear older. Under UV both appear to have been covered with the newer varnish (probably when it was lined) though not inpainted. There is no visible inpainting. There is also an old paper label on the stretcher but nothing identifying a particular gallery or exhibition.
