A Chinese huanghuali brush pot
18th century
H: 7 1/8, Dia: 7 in.
H: 18.09, Dia: 17.78 cm.
Provenance: Mrs. Jolovitz, Bethesda, Maryland. Mrs. Jolvitz was born in Shanghai in the 1930s. Her parents left Russia in the 1920s and moved to Harbin, China, then Shanghai and Hong Kong. Eventually, they immigrated to United States in 1950s. These items were collected by Mrs. Jolovitz's mother in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Condition
With wood cracking and splitting to lower body and underside. One crack extending from rim to foot.
