A group of sixteen Chinese silk panels
19th century
Comprising a pair of panels with embroidered figural garden scene; two red-ground panels with goldwork calligraphies and white-thread inscriptions; six burgundy-ground panels with yellow-painted archaic inscriptions; and six floral embroideries with birds and insects, four with inscriptions. (16).

Provenance: Mr. Raab, Denver, Colorado. A family heirloom.

Eleven with staining and age wear. Burgundy with yellow pigment wear. Fading to one red-ground panel.
