Tiffany-Style Leaded Stained Glass and Bronze Floor Lamp

first quarter 20th century, composed of antique elements, the American shade, possibly intended to serve as a chandelier, with linen-fold leaded panels surrounding a turtle-back center on the top, with a pierced rim, the concave sides set with opalescent and ruby glass, the six-light bronze base with winged caryatid legs on hoof feet, the shade stamped "Tiffany Studios New York", and the base with a spurious "Tiffany Lamp and Decorating Company" mark.

Note: A near identical lamp is in the collection of the New-York Historical Society. Gift of Dr. Egon Neustadt, N84.35.1. The lamp is described as a possible experimental piece by Tiffany Studios.

In good, as found condition. There are three cracked panes on the top of the shade. A few other panes that are slightly dislodged from their copper foil settings. The bronze base has traces of green patination, but there are no signs of damage. The sockets have been replaced and they function well, but the wiring appears to be old.
