Roy Austin, Canadian, 1910 to 1997, oil painting on canvas depicting a scene with kids playing on the beach. Signed lower left. Roy Austin was born in Faversham, England and emigrated to Canada a year later. In 1930, at age 20, Roy Austin enrolled at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and studied painting and design. After graduating in 1934, he apprenticed as a commercial artist, continued to refine his painting and was accepted into the annual exhibitions of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Royal Canadian Academy. One of a kind artwork.
