signed, dated and titled on bottom
In his youth, Latimer was an amateur boxer and fought under the name of Carl 'Rocky' Latimer. He was also an actor and gained a role in the film, The Joe Louis Story (1953). He created this sculpture when Muhammad Ali visited Denmark for three days in 1979 as a tribute to "The Champ".
