Artist Morris Katz (born Moshe Katz on March 5th 1932) was a Polish/American painter. He holds two Guinness World Records.....as the World's Fastest Painter and the Worlds' most Prolific Artist. He has also been called the "King of Schlock" and the "King of Toilet Paper Art" because of a novel means of painting that he developed using a palette knife and toilet tissue instead of a paintbrush! On October 1, 1985, Morris wrestled the Guinness World Record from none other than PICASSO himself as the world's most prolific artist at the Art Students League on 57th street in New York City. As a holocaust survivor and symbol of gratitude to the United States immediately after the assassination of President John F Kennedy, Morris undertook his longest and most special projecct, the Presidential Collection. Known for completing beautiful portraits within minutes using his Instant Art Method, Katz picked up his paintbrush for the first time and hand brushed each US presidential portrait, spending 6 years and an average of 200 hours on each portrait using the "OLD MASTER" technique. In his lifetime, he created over 280,000 paintings - a phenomenal number by any standard, that has afforded him the title of the most prolific painter in history!
