A figural portrait of gentleman, painted in the style of the American School of the late 18th Century and Early 19th Century Early National Period. The subject is a mature male figure with white tie, black jacket and coat, and facial features evoking members of the Washington Family of Old Virginia. No apparent signature. Presented in a gilded gallery quality frame.

Condition: Fair to poor condition having evidence of craquelure throughout with age related losses apparent. Frame having storage wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
