Passing sailboats mirror the design of the iconic Sydney Opera House in this 1970s poster created by American Airlines to promote travel to Australia. The Sydney Opera House opened in 1973 and was designed by Danish architect, Jorn Utzen. It is considered one of the most important buildings of the 20th Century, and was recently granted UNESCO World Heritage status.American Airlines is a major airline based in Fort Worth, Texas. The company was founded in 1926 as a union of more than eighty small airlines and is the world's largest airline. American Airlines is a founding member of Oneworld Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world. Through this partnership they are able to coordinate fares and services with Airlines around the world. In 2001, they acquired the well-known Trans World Airlines (TWA).
