A GEORGE II IRISH SNUFF BOX
By William Currie, Dublin, (maker's mark only)
Of upright oval form, with reeded bands and opening at both ends, marked four times with the maker's mark and also engraved under one lid 'The Gift of the Countess of Antrim 1758', height 6cm, length 7cm, weight 4.5oz.

Catharine Meredyth, daughter of Thomas Meredyth and Catherine Baldwin married Alexander, 5th earl of Antrim in 1755.
