This is a 1860s large oval wallpaper covered hat box with the best paper, mustard ground with shades of blue florals. The carcass is pasteboard covered in colorful wallpaper.

CONDITION
Good, quite sturdy and there are no losses to the paper aside from wear around the edges of the lid and base, and the lid fits well. There is a trace of some water spots. The top has some darkening to the paper from exposure. This originally held a mans top hat when found.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
This hat box measures 38" diameter and is 9-1/2" tall, a perfect size for the base of a stack of boxes.
