c.1860-1890, contains approx. (91) 1/6 plate, and (12) GEM+ size images, depicting individuals and groups posed in formal interior and exterior scenes, primarily posed singly, some children, several couples and groups, many hand-colored, several in paper frame mounts, the book also contains 50+ B&W later images in similar posed formal attire, a 'Green's Minstrels' band photo, another African American band photo from Summitsville, NY, (both damaged), a Keystone View Co. Civil War stereo card depicting African American troops (24th Infantry, Chickamauga, GA), sketches, and more, notes contained in the binder and with the images indicate that many of the tin types and photos are from the Warner family of Middletown, NY and the Patterson family of Richmond, VA, all contained in a single loose leaf 3-ring binder with most in 9 pocket sheet protectors, in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.
Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
