Ht.About Artist: Ioan Nemtoi is a Romanian Postwar & Contemporary sculptor who was born in 1964. When Nemtoi was in the 5th grade one of his teachers noticed his artistic talent and sent him to art school. He studied at the Art Academy in Bucharest for six years, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics, Glass and porcelain. In 1995, he chose a location for his art studio based on the smooth sand in the area necessary for his glassmaking. His works sell all over Europe and the USA and are shown in major art exhibitions and private collections. His work has gained tremendous popularity in Europe, so much so that pieces have been donated by Romania to the Vatican as well as to Unicef Headquarters in New York.
