Description

Ca. 1790-1800 three part mahogany linen press, Boston MA, attributed to John Seymour workshop. A removable cornice over two paneled doors with applied brass ormolu trim, interior with four sliding shelves and blue wallpaper lining. The lower section with three graduated drawers retaining original brass, blue paper lining, banded inlaid apron, on well formed French feet, Quality of wood and characteristics of construction leads one to a highly qualified craftsman working in the Boston area around 1790-1800. 78”H x lower section 48”W x 22”D.

repairs to molding, shrinkage cracks, veneer loss, other minimal repairs and loss .
