Description
George III sterling silver sugar caster, with hallmarks struck to underside for maker John Delmester, London, 1761, with spiral finial above reticulated cap with "Gothick" quatrefoil piercings, above a baluster shaped body with monogram "JM" on circular foot. Weight: 7.65 ozt.; 7.75" H x 2.75" diameter. Note: Listed by Grimwade under Unregistered Marks. It may have been recorded in the lost 1739-1758 Smallworkers' Register or the 1758-1773 Largeworkers' Register.
