6.5.23-LOT 584- both pieces were examined in frame, the male portrait paper shows three pin holes / staple holes? -two to the right side edge and one at left edge, I am unsure if the blue line is original or not, it does not fluoresce under UV light, paper shows some light toning, frame is likely repainted, the back of frame shows much loss and wear to ‘teeth’ holding the image, the hanging loop is held by thread, the female portrait shows some small minute loss to paint in bun and collar, black paint near bottom of frame shows some alligatoring/craquelure, frame is patinated and the back likely held a hair locket at one time, it is as now pictured
