A Chinese Export Lacquer Gilt Four Panel Screen
Qing dynasty (1644-1912), late 18th or early 19th century, black lacquer decorated in gilt with finely painted figures engaged in leisure pursuits and daily activities in a lush natural landscape populated with bamboo, pine trees, and flora, the four panels have a wide border filled with blooming flowers and butterflies, a key motif to the edges, the reverse side with tall flowering trees, ruyi handles at the top of each panel, panels are raised on two metal capped feet.
Each panel 79 1/2 x 22 x 1 in.
