2 volumes in one. Folio (12 5/8" x 10 5/8"). 2 etched title-pages (that to part II with small repair on verso) and 105 fine etched plates each laid-in to heavier later stock. Late 17th-century vellum over paste-board (extremities a bit worn with minor loss).
First published in 1611, this is a fine record of the antiquities and ruins of Rome. Including such iconic images as the Trajan column, the Circus Maximus, and the Coliseum. Maggi was a prolific artist who recorded in his etchings many views of the landscape and architecture in and around Rome.
