Description
A pair of antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icons. St George slaying the dragon. Archangel Michael. Travel icons of miniature size. Mixed media paintings: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Both icons are enclosed in silver rizas or oklads with repousse decor. The icons are titled in Church Slavonic in the upper part. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the sides of the oklads. The backside of the icons is covered with pink velvet.
