Description
DESCRIPTION: Antique gilt bronze sculpture depicting the union of Prajna ("wisdom") and Upaya ("skillfulness") personified, Buddhist depictions of Parvati and Shiva with Parvati seated on Shiva's groin and wrapping her legs around his waist. Upaya holds a vajra in his right hand and a vajra crowned bell in his left hand. Each figure has three faces, is crowned with a headdress around an ushnisha, and possessed multiple arms. Figures are seated on a lotus throne marked on verso with Han characters reading "Qianlong Emperor Make".
