Chinese Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Blue and White Porcelain Moon Vase. Potted in moon vase, thick and tall, globular moon lower belly, straight cylindrical neck, round slight flaring mouth rim, raised on ring foot base with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color depicted of the farmer is blowing the field with his buffalo surrounded with dense tree and salubrious landscape. Because of their importance to agriculture, the water buffalo or ox (niu) symbolizes springtime, harvest, and fertility. To city dwellers and government officials, the water buffalo also represents a simple and idyllic life. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Yongzheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
