Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN / NAUTICAL VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC CUP PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each having trefoil border, comprising one example featuring the Cadmus, depicting a tall-masted ship in full sail, and one example featuring Castle Garden Battery, New York, depicting two fort-like structures flying American flags with sailboat and figures in foreground. Castle Garden example having impressed American eagle with shield mark encircled by "ENOCH WOOD & SONS / BURSLEM" to underside. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 3 3/4" DOA.
