ISAAK TIRION (DUTCH, 1705-1765) MAP OF NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, hand-colored engraving on laid paper, comprising three maps of different views, left side titled "Grondvlakte / van / NIEUW ORLEANS, / de Hoofdstad / van / Louisiana" in a rectangular cartouche in upper left corner with a legend, featuring an aerial view of New Orleans along the Mississippi River with buildings and streets including Bourbon, and the right side with two maps, consisting of the top map titled "De Uitloop van / de Rivier / Missisippi" and the lower map titled "De Oostelyke / ingang van de / MISSISIPPI, / met een Plan van / het FORT, / 't welk het Kanaal / beheerscht." Housed under UV glass in a modern frame, backing paper with gallery label for Antique Prints, Inc. of Ocean View, DE. Circa 1769. 18" x 13 1/2" sight, 24" x 19 3/4" OA.
Condition
Very good visual condition with expected vertical fold line to center, some scattered spotting, top right map with marks/stains, frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
