PAIR OF DELAWARE FOLK ART PAINTED WOODEN TRADE SIGNS, single-sided form, gilt lettering against a black schmaltz / sand ground for "UNDERTAKER" and "819 YEATMAN", with applied molding. Late 19th/early 20th century. 49" H, 11" W, 1 1/2" D.
Catalogue Note: Marshall H. Yeatman (1876-1951) of 819 Washington St, Hockessin / Wilmington, Delaware, went into the field in 1896 partnering with John. B. Martin until 1916, and then joining with his son in 1931. Marshall appeared in the 1910 US Federal Census with the occupation of undertaker.
