Description
PENNSYLVANIA PAINT-DECORATED PINE MINIATURE BLANKET CHEST, hinged rectangular lid with applied molding over pegged case with lidded till, raised on cut-out apron / skirt and back turned legs terminating in ball feet, paneled ends. Interior of lid inscribed in pencil "William Zollner and Jane ?? /1852". Walnut secondary wood. Retains original polychrome painted-surface with stenciling depicting birds, panels with free-hand out-lining. Probably Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Mid 19th century. 9 1/4" H, 13" W, 8 1/2" D.Â
