Description

One of the rarest Civil War Sharps rifles. Only 600 made. These were produced in 1861 under special order for Egypt. Unfortunately for the Egyptians our Civil War broke out and the Governor of Conn. bought all the Sharps rifles in stock. These are very scarce. This rifle is 100% original, 100 % complete, and mechanically perfect. It us ultra attractive with generous traces of original factory finish. The only minor wart is that the bore was reamed smooth. Who knows why.

Under the muzzle, and just forward of the forend, is the lug for a saber bayonet. This weapon bears serial number 37,417 Surface is in very nice condition with no pitting. All markings are proper and legible. Action works well. Nipple is original. Breechblock looks very clean and is free of pitting.

Materials, Packing, and UPS Shipping on this item is $75.00. Insurance is $1.50 per hundred. UPS charges $5.25 for the signature required service.
