Description
A very strong condition Civil War 1860 Spencer carbine that was upgraded at Springfield at the end of the Civil War. This is one of the early upgrades as it retains the original seven groove Spencer rifling as opposed to the three grove Springfield. It also was not fitted with the 1865 Stabler cutoff selector. It has the improved Spencer follower. The Spencer frame marking is worn as a result of the Springfield refurbishing. The frame has a lot of case color. The barrel has a lot of faded blue. This finish is the 1867 Springfield finish. Serial 50,069 Strong cartouche. A top notch gun from the Civil War and early Indian Fighter days.
