Description
Details:
19th-century photography archive consisting of 150 carte-de-visite photographs and 50 cabinet cards, primarily images by noted photographer John Cadwallader. Cadwallader was from a family of well-known 1850s-1920s Midwest photographers. His brothers and son Bassett were also photographers.
The lot includes four images we believe to be self-portraits of Cadwallader including two family portrait CDVs, one solo CDV, and a solo cabinet card. There are also several CDVs we believe to includes portraits of his two sons. We estimate 75% of the lot are Cadwallader images with the rest being from assorted photography studios of the era.
Overall the lot is in excellent condition.
