Silvered bronze. Just over 3/4" height. Elegant, fully developed form of the domed section with slight medial ridge and indented cusped top. Made by the open face mold technique. The surface is lightly textured from burial. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and on Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
