Description
A lot of early to mid-20th century sterling silver trinket boxes. A total of 8 items including four pill boxes, two cases, a box for matches with a monogram, an a chatelaine. The lid of each piece is garnished either with embossed or engraved decor. The match box is British, marked JR for John Rose, Birmingham assay mark, lion passant guardant, and letter X for the year 1922 on the rim. Pill box with engraving is marked Sterling Made in Thailand on the bottom. Pill box with a medallion on the lid is marked Wiskemann on the bottom. Total Weight: 262 grams. A chatelaine is a 19th-century decorative belt clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Orfevrerie Wiskemann was an early 20th-century Belgian brand.
