The paint layer has developed a network of age cracks and a prominent, cupped texture has formed in the darker paint layers which is distracting to the viewer. White haze has formed along some of the lines of craquelure. The varnish is very glossy and has yellowed with age. Areas of retouching have slightly darkened overtime but are acceptable from a normal viewing distance.
