However, it has never been registered in Italy. It had undergone partial restoration. The restoration took about twenty years, but there is no documentation or certifications available. In practice, it is a Fiat 508 Balilla produced under license from Fiat. Initially, it was not even branded as Simca since the company did not exist at the time, officially founded in November 1934. The value of this specimen lies in being one of the very first models with an innovative body design, following the Fiat's original concept, corresponding to the sketch by the great designer De Beamont. As the production continued in France, some aesthetic variations were introduced in the coupe version:The disappearance of the long side running boards typical of the Italian versions. The company from which Simca derived was initially called SAFAF, which stands for Société Anonyme pour la Fabrication des Automobiles Fiat in France. The first 6 CV models were produced by this company.Around 1935-1936, modifications to the original design increased, resulting in the Coupe model. The most noticeable differences were the absence of side running boards, a different hood louvers design, and a chrome profile on the door.At the beginning of its production, the 6 CV was available as a sedan, coach, coupe, and roadster. The engine was the same as the Balilla, a 4-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 995 cc, featuring side valve distribution. The maximum power output was 20 hp at 3400 rpm.It had rear-wheel drive and a 3-speed gearbox. The top speed was 80 km/h, which increased to 24 hp at 3600 rpm in 1934, with a top speed of 85 km/h.In recent years, it has hardly been used.Chassis number: 10129Extremely rare two-seater Balilla, only three examples present in EuropeVehicle CertificationThe bodywork is in perfect condition, with matching original paint color. The glass and windshield are in perfect condition. The interior is in excellent condition, with the upholstery in original beige color. However, the driver's seat backrest has slight damage from moths, although not visible. The upholstery on the door panels is perfect. The tires are new but from the era.The engine is a matching number, following the original chassis of the car. It has been completely rebuilt, although it was not a recent restoration. The engine is in perfect working order, with no oil leaks or smoke. The cooling system, radiator, and water pump are in perfect condition. There is no turbocharger. The four-speed manual gearbox is in perfect working order. The drive shaft is in perfect condition. The differential is functioning well. The clutch is new.The original joints and drive shafts are rust-free.The flywheel is in good working order. The wheel bearings are in good working order, with no rolling noise and perfectly greased. The braking system is new, with the last intervention dating back one year. The mechanical steering box is in good working order. The shock absorbers and suspensions are present, and the leaf springs are in good working order. The general electrical system is in perfect condition, with insulated wires. Inside the engine compartment, the wires are naturally fabric-wrapped.The dashboard instrument includes the original Fiat speedometer. The direction indicators and conical lights above the fenders are functioning well. Rear indicators were added later in the 1960s as they became mandatory. The headlight system uses era-appropriate bulbs. There is no alternator, only a dynamo. The original Fiat starter motor is present. There is no electronic control unit. The heating system is absent. The exterior windshield wipers are present and electric, with a tilting windshield. There are manual window regulators with the original crank. The battery is new, but with the appropriate amperage for a vintage car.
